Many of my students have a favorite book or series that they read over and over again. In fact, for some of these readers, often what we call "reluctant readers," these beloved series or titles are the only books they would read if given a chance. These favorites are their comfort zone. Sometimes it is because find reading difficult, have a hard time trying something new or just really love the book.
If you are one of these students, or a parent or teacher of one of these die-hard, stick to what I know and love kids, I have some hope for you. Below you will find links that provided lists of If You Liked This, Then Read... ideas. These lists take some of our favorite books like Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Harry Potter and Junie B. Jones and suggests other titles that you might like that are similar in one way or another to the book you love so much.
Take a chance, try something new, but yet familiar. I guarantee there is at least one book on these lists that you will like and might just become your new go to book when it's time to read.
