Alan Gratz is know for his historical fiction and Refugee is Gratz at his best. Refugee tells the daring, heart pounding, can't help but cheer and gasp out loud for the tales of survival of three main characters and their journey to safety. You cannot help but get attached to the characters in this book and the intertwining of their tales at the end is both heart-breaking and hopeful.
