Clayton loves three things in life: his harmonica, playing the blues and his grandpa, Cool Papa Byrd. Lucky for Clayton, those three things go together as Papa Byrd plays guitar in a blues band. There is nothing Clayton loves more than hanging out with Papa Byrd and his band, listening to them play. He can't wait for the day when he will get to play with his grandfather. Tragedy strikes hard when Papa Byrd dies suddenly and, unfortunately Clayton, his mother has the complete opposite feelings about music, especially the blues.
Suddenly, Clayton's world is turned upside and his mother sells all of Papa Byrd's guitars and music and forbids Clayton from having music in his life. What's Clayton to do? With no grandfather to stand up for him and share his love for music, he feels lost. Desperate and unsure, Clayton runs away in search of Papa Byrd's band and the music he loves. But with his adventure lead him back to the blues or to dangers he never knew existed?
